Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men. Colossians 3:23 ASV
‘Do everything as unto God.’ There are some days I don’t get how to do everything as an act of worship. Like, when I’m at work and I’m having a really bad day: how do I do it as unto God? How do I let my job be an act of worship?
When my son upsets me and I get really mad, how do I parent as an “unto God”?
When my spouse says something that hurts me and I want to lash out, how I do it as “unto God”?
According to the Online Dictionary worship means to show reverence and adoration for a deity.
In the scenarios above, how do I act in a way that gives honor and glory to God?
What lessons are there for me to learn from this experience?
How can I grow?
How can I use this to propel someone forward?
In asking these questions we learn the key to doing everything as if we were doing it for God.
We learn to give him everything we have at every moment of our lives. We learn to focus on Christ and not so much on ourselves. We learn to give him praise in spite of our circumstances.
I’m ready to start worshiping God in my every day … are you?
