The Story of Unconditional Love

The Story of Unconditional Love: There's nothing in your past that can separate you from the love of God.Images courtesy of Canva.com

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. Romans 8:38 NLT

There are parts of my story that I tell really well. If asked, “Has God been good to you?” “Yes he has.” I answer with confidence, but there are some parts of the story I’m not doing so well with.

Like those things that I wish I hadn’t done, or even a few things I wish I had done. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up thinking about the bad things that you did in your past, you can’t truly enjoy the present. Sometimes the past obliterates the future and makes it impossible to grow. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Have you ever been at that place? Do you know what it feels like to be unable to hold your head up because of something that God has already forgiven you for? Oh my sweet friend, don’t despair.

Understand in this moment that God’s grace has overwritten the rough patches in your life. He doesn’t want to remove them because that would prevent you from being a witness to another person.

Instead he wants to put his grace and his love into the broken places of your life.

How are you broken today?

Take it to your Father.

He knows exactly what happened and guess what?

He loves you anyway.

There’s nothing on this earth that can take us away for the love of God. Instead of being ashamed of your story, decide how it can be used to encourage a brother or sister in the faith.

How can our story build up the body of Christ?
