Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
Trust is something that I struggle with. I wrestle with trusting God. It’s not that I don’t know that he can do wonderful and amazing and awesome things. I do.
I’ve seen him at work in my life more than once and I’ve seen him work in the lives of others. It’s just that I want proof and I want it in advance. I want God to say,
“Ami, this is what I’m doing. This is what I’m going to do and this is why you need to do it.”
Unfortunately for me God just doesn’t work like that. He wants my trust and my faith to be unconditional. He prompts my heart to do something and I should just … do it. No questions asked.
I imagine trusting God would be a little bit like bungee jumping (not that I’ve actually done it!):
have no proof that you won’t go splat! when you hit the ground. But still you
take off in blind faith believing that the device will work and you’ll soar
when everyone knows that human beings can’t fly.
Are you struggling also with trusting God my friend?
Today’s Bible verse is for us: Trust in the Lord with all of our heart. In other words, trust God even when it doesn’t seem to make sense.
